After a delicious breakfast, your licensed English-speaking guide will take you on a journey through Athens’ most iconic archaeological sites.

Begin at the Acropolis of Athens, an ancient citadel perched atop a hill, housing the famous Parthenon, a white marble temple dedicated to Goddess Athena, built over 2,400 years ago.

Visit the Ancient Agora, once the hub of social, political, and artistic life, now a peaceful area of ruins and greenery. Explore the historic Plaka area, with highlights such as the Stoa of Attalus, Hadrian’s Library, and the Tower of the Winds. Walk past the Hill of Mars (Areopagus), where Saint Paul preached, and marvel at the Odeion of Herodes Atticus, still hosting performances today.

After a lunch break, enjoy a scenic drive along the Athens Riviera to Cape Sounion, passing seaside towns like Glyfada, Vouliagmeni, and Varkiza, with views of the stunning Saronic Gulf.

At Cape Sounion, visit the majestic Temple of Poseidon, built in the Golden Age of Greece, dedicated to the God of the Sea, crucial to the ancient Athenians. Don’t miss the breathtaking sunset views, among the best in Greece.

DAY 3 – Delphi

After breakfast we head to Delphi and its incredible Archaeological Museum. Originally, Delphi was an ancient religious sanctuary, home to the Oracle of Delphi and the Priestess Pythia who was famed through the ancient world for divining the future and was consulted about important decisions throughout the ancient classical world. Later it was dedicated to the Greek God Apollo.

This UNESCO site was one of the most important religious and political sites in Ancient Greece. You will have a chance to explore the Temple of Apollo, believed to be where pilgrims would journey to, to hear prophecies from The Greek God Apollo through his chosen Oracle. The path that climbs to the Temple was once known as The Sacred Way. It was believed to have been lined by Ancient Treasure and Statues. Some of these are intact while others lie in ruins, but together they form a magnificent sight. You will also see the Ancient Theatre on the slopes of the mountain and visit the Archaeological Museum of Delphi.

The Archaeological museum of Delphi exhibits the history of the Delphic Sanctuary and reflects it religious, political and artistic activities from early 8th century BC. The permanent exhibition covers at least a thousand years from the Mycenean Era to the Greco-Roman times. Its rich collection is comprised primarily of Architectural sculptures and ancient votive offerings to the Greek God Apollo. Here you will find the magnificent bronze statue of the Charioteer of Delphi and the sculpture of Agias, an ancient Greek athlete.
