Naxos is one of the oldest inhabited islands in the Cyclades. It is believed that it was occupied during prehistoric times and that it is where Zeus, the ruler, protector and father of Greek gods was brought up.

Portara is a huge marble gate and the only remains of an unfinished temple of Apollo from 530BC. It is the islands main landmark and emblem and definitely worth visiting. Situated upon a small hill right by the main port of Naxos this spot also offers a spectacular sunset view.
Don’t miss the Venetian Castle or ‘kastro’ of Naxos , built in the 13th century. There isn’t much of it remaining, but what does remain is certainly worth looking at.

Continue your tour to the Odeion of Herodes Atticus, still used today as a summer venue for open-air concerts and theatrical performances.
Then the spectacular Kalimarmaro stadium, the home of the first modern Olympic Games in 1896, built entirely out of marble.

DAY 3 – Journey through The Peloponese.
After breakfast, your private chauffer will pick you up from your hotel to begin your 4-day tour of Greece’s Mainland, The Peloponnese. Your journey will take you along the Saronic Gulf’s coastal road towards the Corinth Canal, also known as the Isthmus of Corinth. It is of prime importance as it connects the Ionian and Aegean seas circumnavigating the Peloponnese and cutting almost 185 nautical miles, making the passage of cargo and passenger ships much more efficient. You will also visit Ancient Corinth, which was founded in the Neolithic Period sometime between 5000-3000BC. A major city in the 8th Century BC well known for its architectural and artistic innovations including the innovation of black pottery and where St. Paul spoke to the Corinthians.
Now we continue our journey, driving across the Peloponnese and heading to the famous city of Sparta, the hometown of Leonidas (The Greek king of the city-state of Sparta) popularized by the movie 300. Sparta was recognized as the leading force of the unified Greek army during the Greco-Persian wars between 431 and 404 BC.
After visiting Sparta, we head for the capital of the Byzantine Empire, a picturesque little town known as Mystras, where there are beautiful churches and monasteries to explore.
Our final stop for the day is the town of Olympia where you will spend the night relaxing and rejuvenating after today’s adventures.

The Olympic Games took place here every four years from 776 BC to 393 AD. The site was also a place of worship dedicated to the Greek God Zeus and Hera from the 10th century BC and you will find numerous small shrines, gymnasiums and sculptors workshops to explore. Up until this very day the Olympic torch is lit in Ancient Olympia before it makes its way to the current years host city.
Olympia’s Archaeological Museum is one of the most important museums in Greece as it houses finds from the excavation of the sanctuary of Zeus. The museums exhibits are displayed in chronological and thematic order from Prehistoric to Roman times and allows you to build a picture of a very historically relevant period in Ancient Olympia. Do look out for the unique sculptural masterpieces such as Praxiteles’ Hermes, Paeoneus’ Victory and Apollo.

Later it was dedicated to the Greek God Apollo.
After visiting Delphi, continue towards Kalambaka, a settlement with prosperous history and significant monuments, via the historical town of Gravia where Odysseus Androutsos stopped the invasion of 8000 Turks with his Army of 100 men. It is noted in history that over 400 of Turks died, while Androutsos lost only 2 of his men.

Now it is time to head back to Athens with a stop on your way back for coffee or lunch. You will also be able to visit the site of the giant statue of Leonidas in Thermopiles, which was popularized by the movie 300, where the Persians battled against the vastly outnumbered Greeks for three days. Although it was clear that the Persians were going to win, Leonidas stayed and fought the final battle with only 300 men from Sparta showing the indominable spirit of the Ancient Greeks.
The last stop on your journey back to Athens will be at a beautiful portside and picturesque little town worth exploring.
DAY 7 – Athens Riviera and Cape Sounion

And of course, no culinary exploration of Athens would be complete without the visit to the central food market, also known as Varvakeios, one of the most vibrant sensory experiences in the city. Here small producers exhibit their products from across the country in this large and bustling market and it is the perfect spot to try some of the best feta cheese and olives in the world. Last but not the least, your guide will recommend a choice of great local establishments off the beaten touristy path of Athens where you will have a chance to relax and enjoy a time-honored Greek tradition of ‘meze’ – light snacks with local spirits accompanied by the Greek music so you may fully immerse yourself in Greece’s famous laid-back vibe.

The centre of Athens has plenty to offer. The city center isn’t just the commercial centre but also an ideal area to wander around. You will chance upon numerous archaeological sites, artisans, quirky cafés and bars and plenty of incredible Greek souvenirs and artifacts as you explore the areas of Plaka, Psirri and Monastiraki.
If you feel that you would like a bit of guidance in order to take on this incredible city, you may opt for the option of an Athens orientation tour which will be available to you.
Alternatively, if you wish to relax you may rest in your luxury hotel or take a short relaxing walk along the cobblestoned streets of your neighborhood, exploring and discovering at your own pace or enjoy a delicious meal of Greek delicacies in one of the many tavernas located in your area.
DAY 2 – Welcome to Santorini
After a delicious breakfast, you will catch your ferry (or Flight), riding the waves as you sit back and enjoy the Aegean Blue as you head to Santorini, a truly unique Greek destination.
Intriguing history, awesome volcanic landscape, cosmopolitan atmosphere, breathtaking sunsets, stunningly deep blue sea and the volcano are just some of the reasons that make Santorini the most popular holiday destination in Greece. As your ferry sails into the rim of the Caldera you will see the steep cliffs and be engulfed by a metaphysical energy that is unique to the island of Santorini.
The Cyclades Style houses with cave style architecture, with traditional whitewashed houses dug into volcanic rock, blue domes churches and paved paths, and of course breathtaking views of the rocky cliffs and the Aegean Blue promise you an ethereal experience.
On your first day on this magnificent island, we encourage you to explore the cobbled streets and breathtaking views of your village and sample the amazing local cuisine in one of Santorini’s many incredible restaurants and tavernas. A must-do is to dine at a restaurant atop one of the steep cliffs overlooking the majestic Caldera for a truly otherworldly experience.
DAY 3 – Santorini Wine tour
Today is a day dedicated to the Drink of the Gods – Wine!
Santorini’s signature Assyrtiko wines are rare and distinctive. They are born from the indigenous Assyrtiko grape, cultivated in some of the world’s oldest vineyards, some of which are around 3500 years old, sown and grown in the rich volcanic soil of Santorini.
Assyritiko-Santorini world class still dry white wine can be drunk young or aged. Under the guidance of an expert Sommelier, you will be led through the entire wine production process starting with the selection and variety of grapes and ending with the bottling of the finished product. You will be able to sample and savour these precious, truly ageworthy wines, including one of the most renowned ones – the sweet Vin Santo.
Since no wine tasting would be complete without food, all the wines are expertly paired with meze style bites, making this tour a memorable experience and indulgence for all your senses.
DAY 4 – Santorini day at leisure.
Take advantage of your day in Santorini and enjoy your day at leisure. As the most famous of all the Greek islands, characteristic to Santorini are its dramatic volcanic cliffs, whitewashed cube shaped houses and its cinematic sunsets.
One nautical mile and a short ferry ride away is the island of Thirasia, a treasure nearly untouched by civilization. This little island was a part of Santorini but was separated in the volcanic eruption of 1600 BC. Thirassia houses the beautiful black beach of Korfos. And the hike up to its highest point is well worth if just for the stunning photo opportunities it offers.
Alternatively, you may visit a local spa or head to Perisia or Kamari with their flat sandy beaches and miles of crystal clear water.
Visit one of Santorini’s famous Villages, considered among the most beautiful on the Greek Islands. Oia and Fira are the most famous as they are perched on the edge of the caldera and offer amazing views of the Aegean sea and the volcano.
If you’re still itching for more, take a trip down the 800 broad, zigzagged steps from Fira to the port below. This is an experience you’ll remember, particularly if you take the traditional donkey ride on the way back up (a cable-car is also available)!
For your last night in Santorini a traditional Santorini taverna meal with local cuisine and delicious local wines is a must!
DAY 5 – Welcome to Crete
Today you will say goodbye to Santorini and hello to Crete. After breakfast at your hotel, you will be chauffer driven to the port of Santorini to catch your 3-hour hydrofoil ferry to the majestic island of Crete. Upon arrival, you will be greeted by a representative who will make sure that you get to your luxury hotel of choice in safety and comfort.
Crete happens to be the largest island in Greece. It was home to the majestic Minoan civilization from the Bronze age, whose earliest beginnings were believed to be from 3500BC. Its customs, the feisty spirit of the locals, rich history, exquisite cuisine, wild natural beauty and the generosity of its people gives it a truly unique vibe and sets it apart from the other islands of Greece. As Nikos Kazantzakis (Crete’s most celebrated author of the book Zorba the Greek) once wrote – “The mystery of Crete runs deep. Whoever sets foot on this island senses a mysterious force coursing warmly and beneficently through their veins, sensing their soul beginning to grow”
You will have the remainder of the day to get a feel of this wonderful island by doing a little exploration of your own. Our travel consultant is at your service should you require any tips or recommendations for things to do on the island.
DAY 6 – Knossos and Wine Experience
Today is the Day of the Great Labyrinth Tour where you will have a chance to immerse yourself in the relics and practices of The Minoans from the Bronze age. Along with an official licensed tourist guide you will be transported in a premium class vehicle to the Palace of Knossos, the mythical Labyrinth of Homer. Your guide will take you through the Minoan Palace of Knossos and you will hear all about the historical significance of this magical place. You will be mesmerized by the art on the walls and the mosaic work of the palace and sense the strong mystical energy of the palace itself.
Next you will experience a session on the Minoan Ritual Dance, based on the ancient Minoan Art depictions and Ancient Literature, conducted by a professional Choreographer and dance teacher.
You will then be treated to a traditional Cretan lunch in a taverna in the mountains around Knossos before you head off for a wine tasting and bottling session. We will take you to a Cretan winery where you will have the chance to sample different types of wine produced locally in the region. You will be introduced to Raki, a local spirit made of grapes. You will learn about the traditional process of wine distillation and bottling and have a chance to try your own hand at it. Definitely an experience not to be missed!
DAY 7 – Explore Crete, Lasithi Plateau
On your last day on this amazing island, you can either enjoy your day at your own pace or you may take a trip to the Lasithi Plateau – a trip we highly recommend!
The breathtakingly beautiful Lassithi Plateau is about 70kms west of Heraklion city. It is located in a peaceful and fertile region with rich vegetation and hundreds of windmills and is surrounded by the wild peaks of the Dikti Mountain range.
The Dikti mountains house an ancient Minoan sacred cave where Titaness Rhea is believed to have given birth to her son Zeus. The locals call it “Psychro” after the village that it is closest to.
This cave is believed to be one of the most visited archaeological sites in Greece. If you do choose to visit this cave – you will be blown away by its spectacular beauty and rich history. Wild aromatic herbs perfume the mountain air around it and you will feel as though you were a part of Ancient Greece as you walk along its relatively untouched oak tree lined stony path. Not to mention the panoramic views that will take your breath away!
DAY 8 – Athens – Acropolis Site & Acropolis Museum Tour
On this day you will board a short flight back to Athens, where you will enjoy the last memorable day of your Greek experience.

After a delicious breakfast, your licensed English-speaking guide will take you on a fully guided tour of some monumental archaeological sites of Athens.
The rich, deep-rooted history of Greece has been preserved in the form of several iconic monuments and museums across the country. The most important of all is the Acropolis of Athens – a Citadel built atop a massive hill. It comprises of the ruins of several historic buildings including the Parthenon, A white marble temple built between 447 and 432BC (making it 2,406 years old), dedicated to the Greek Goddess, Athena.
Next you will see the Ancient Agora. The word “Agora” literally means gathering place or assembly. It is a large area with ancient ruins and much greenery, and was the gathering place of athletic, artistic, business, social, spiritual and political life in the city of Athens.
Explore the historical Plaka area, close to the Thiseion temple, dating back to the 5th century BC. Stoa of Attalus, Hadrian’s Library, and the picturesque Tower of the Winds. The return route takes you over the Hill of Mars, also known as Areopagus, where Saint Paul preached his Sermon on an unknown God, as recorded in the Acts of the Apostles, in 54 A.D., which is directly below the Acropolis. Continue your tour to the Odeion of Herodes Atticus, still used today as a summer venue for open-air concerts and theatrical performances.
After a small lunch break, you will begin your day trip to Cape Sounion via the Athens Riviera. Sit back, relax and take in the scenic drive from the centre of Athens along the coast of the Athenian Riviera as you head to Cape Sounion. You will drive through one of the finest stretches of coastal road in Greece, passing through picturesque villages and the seaside towns of Faliro, Glyfada, Vouliagmeni, and Varkiza. With a splendid view of the Saronic Gulf, you will be able to take in some of the most breathtaking Aegean blue scenery while passing local beaches and the famous Vouliagmeni Lake.
Cape Sounion is the southernmost tip of the Attica peninsula and home to the world-renowned archaeological site of the Temple of Poseidon. Built between 444 and 440 BC, it is one of the major monuments of the Golden Age of Greece. The Greeks considered Poseidon to be the master of the sea and his power was considered the be second only to Zeus in Greek Mythology. As the God of the sea, he was of particular relevance and value to the Athenians given the importance of trade by sea and it is believed that mariners and fishermen of Ancient Greece prayed to him to keep them safe from storms and shipwrecks. It also happens to be one of the most spectacular sunset spots in Greece, so be sure to take it all in.
DAY 3 – Delphi
After breakfast we head to Delphi and its incredible Archaeological Museum. Originally, Delphi was an ancient religious sanctuary, home to the Oracle of Delphi and the Priestess Pythia who was famed through the ancient world for divining the future and was consulted about important decisions throughout the ancient classical world. Later it was dedicated to the Greek God Apollo.
This UNESCO site was one of the most important religious and political sites in Ancient Greece. You will have a chance to explore the Temple of Apollo, believed to be where pilgrims would journey to, to hear prophecies from The Greek God Apollo through his chosen Oracle. The path that climbs to the Temple was once known as The Sacred Way. It was believed to have been lined by Ancient Treasure and Statues. Some of these are intact while others lie in ruins, but together they form a magnificent sight. You will also see the Ancient Theatre on the slopes of the mountain and visit the Archaeological Museum of Delphi.
The Archaeological museum of Delphi exhibits the history of the Delphic Sanctuary and reflects it religious, political and artistic activities from early 8th century BC. The permanent exhibition covers at least a thousand years from the Mycenean Era to the Greco-Roman times. Its rich collection is comprised primarily of Architectural sculptures and ancient votive offerings to the Greek God Apollo. Here you will find the magnificent bronze statue of the Charioteer of Delphi and the sculpture of Agias, an ancient Greek athlete.
Finally, we will stop for a break and an enjoyable lunch at leisure in Delphi or in the picturesque and popular ski-resort town of Arahova.
DAY 4 – Mycenae and Epidavros
After breakfast, your private chauffer will pick you up from your hotel to begin your full day sightseeing tour of some prime Archaeological sites in Greece’s Mainland, The Peloponnese. Your journey will take you along the Saronic Gulf’s coastal road towards the Corinth Canal, also known as the Isthmus of Corinth. It is of prime importance as it connects the Ionian and Aegean seas circumnavigating the Peloponnese and cutting almost 185 nautical miles, making the passage of cargo and passenger ships much more efficient
Now we continue our journey, crossing into the Peloponnese to Argolida, the land of Homer’s Golden Mycenae, home to the mighty King Agamemnon – ruler of the Greeks in the Trojan war. Mycenae was a very prosperous town in Ancient time and gave its name to the Mycenaean civilization that flourished from 1600 to 1000 BC. This Ancient town is situated in a naturally fortified position between the sloping hills of Profitis Illias and Mount Sara and was declared a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1999. You will begin your walking tour of this incredible site by walking through the Lions Gate, the entrance to the town comprising of two female stone lions, erected during the 13th century BC and the only remaining monumental piece of Mycenaean sculpture.
You will have a chance to explore the awe-inspiring Cyclopean masonry of Mycenae, a type of stonework found in Mycenaean architecture, named so from the belief of the classical Greeks that only the mythical Cyclopes had the strength to move the enormous boulders used to build the walls of Mycenae. You will also have a chance to visit the Royal Tombs of King Agamemnon and his wife Clytemnestra along with the Treasury of Areus.
Finally, you will visit the Great Theater of Epidaurus, believed to have been erected in the 4th century BC. This ancient theatre can accommodate 15000 people and it is believed that its acoustics are so perfect that you can hear people whispering on stage even if you seated in the back row. This incredible masterpiece of architecture is so well preserved that it is still used today for theatrical performances. It is also home to the Athens Epidaurus festival held every year.
DAY 5 – Welcome to Thessaloniki
Today you are off to the Pearl of Northern Greece, the wonderful seaside city of Thessaloniki. A short flight from Athens will take you there, where you will be met by your chauffer who will drive you to the city centre where you may check in to your luxury boutique hotel of choice. Thessaloniki was a very important metropolis during the Roman period, the second largest and wealthiest city of the Byzantine empire.
Once you settle in, you can begin exploring the multi-cultural city of Thessaloniki, its many historical sites, buildings and their distinct architectural styles, numerous notable Ottoman and Byzantine monuments, major shopping streets and the lively recreation areas throughout its several districts. We highly recommend Ladadika, an old quarter of the city with narrow cobblestoned streets and neoclassical buildings. It still has some abandoned houses in Thessaloniki’s signature architectural style, some of which have been restored and are now café’s and tavernas.
Next up, Kapani where you will find the oldest marketplace of Thessaloniki, the traditional open air Kapani Market. This market hosts a whole array of shops from food products to flowers, clothes and restaurants – truly a unique experience.

First up – Amfipoli, an important ancient Greek city, later occupied by the Romans, where a lot of ruins remain intact. This site was where the battle between the Spartans and Athenians in 422BC took place. Later, it was the site where Alexander the Great prepared for campaigns leading to his invasion of Asia. The very impressive museum of Amphipolis is where you will have the chance to see the Lion of Amphipolis, a majestic 4th century BC sculpture. In the nearby town of Philippi, you will see the famous octagonal church of Philippi, an archaeological site with exceptional Roman architecture.
Next we head to the stunning port city of Kavala, which is built almost like an amphitheater on the Bay of Kavala across from the island of Thasos. Kavala has a rich archaeological history and several Ottoman monuments to visit. The promenade is full of shops selling local wares and souvenirs and is a great place to spend some time sightseeing and shopping.
If you’ve still got an appetite for more, you may want to visit the stunning Acropolis of Kavala or the Byzantine fortress, where you will find the well-preserved aqueduct of Kavala.
Another site well worth visiting is the residence of Mohammed Ali, the general and founder of the Egyptian dynasty. It is considered one of the most characteristic intact examples of 18th Century Ottoman architecture in Greece and is not to be missed. What makes it extra special is that it is situated in the Old part of Kavala, an area worth exploring.
DAY 7 – Discover the way to Mount Olympus
After a delicious breakfast at your hotel it will be time to head off to visit the highest mountain in Greece and the home of The Olympian Gods of Ancient Greek Mythology.

This picturesque town was built along the lines of Macedonia’s traditional architecture and the lush vegetation around it enhances the feeling of natural aesthetic harmony and wild beauty.
After lunch, you will have the opportunity to walk around the village and visit the fascinating Enipea Valley where the waters of the river descending from Mt.Olympos form small lakes making the scenery stunning. The land in this area is considered one of the most fertile in Greece with a plethora of fruit trees and orchards.
Last but not the least we head to Mount Olympos, The home of the twelve Ancient Greek gods. This area has exceptional biodiversity and rich flora and has been turned into a National Park where you can relive the myths of Ancient Greece and be bewitched by its natural beauty.

St. Nicholas is the patron saint of seafarers and was of prime importance as Syros used to be the biggest commercial port of Greece in the early 19th century. The Church itself is an architectural wonder with a marble bell tower, an imposing marble staircase, iconic columns, sculptured decorations and icons created by some of the best hagiographers of that time.
